Tee-Ball
This is for all players, regardless of gender, who are Little League age 5 or 6 according to the Little League Age Chart. For the 2024 season, these are players born before September 1, 2019 and after August 31, 2017.
- All players bat every inning
- All players play the field every inning
- Very basic skills are introduced (hitting, throwing, catching) as are team play and sportsmanship
- Each team will typically be scheduled for one game on Saturday and another some time during the week, weather permitting
Children this age require adult supervision more than they need softball/baseball role models. All parents are expected to help out with their child’s team in any of several ways:
- Field preparation – raking or lining the field
- Bench support – monitoring players not currently on the field
- Coaching – These are 5- and 6-year-old children. You know enough to help.
- Managing – Need to coordinate the volunteers and initiate updates to the families
- Concession stand – Every team must send at least one adult to the concession stand to work from the first pitch until the last of the team sodas have been consumed.
All volunteers who have ongoing contact with the players must satisfactorily complete a background check annually. The application for this may be completed when registering as a volunteer.
